AA-5A Cheetah

The 150-hp four-seater with LoPresti improvements. Built 1976–1979 by Grumman American and Gulfstream American.

AA-5A Cheetah

The AA-5A Cheetah benefited from Roy LoPresti's aerodynamic refinements to the Traveler airframe — cleaner cowling, improved gear fairings, and detail work throughout. It kept the O-320-E2G producing 150 hp but delivered better cruise performance than the Traveler. The Cheetah was produced alongside the 180-hp AA-5B Tiger and shares most airframe, engine accessory, and brake components with the AA-5 Traveler. Over 900 Cheetahs were built during the 1976–1979 production run.
